     9 апреля 2024 года  в Областном историко-краеведческом музее состоялось открытие выставки  «Степной академик», посвященной 125- летию ученого-геолога К.И. Сатпаева.  В мероприятие принимали участие студенты Восточно-Казахстанского университета им. С.Аманжолова, учащиеся  средней школы № 36  г.Усть-Каменогорска. 

    Материалы выставки рассказывают о научной деятельности академика. Фотографии и документы  иллюстрируют многогранную научную и общественную деятельность выдающегося ученого.

         Каныш Имантаевич Сатпаев принадлежал к плеяде замечательных геологов  нашей страны, являлся выдающимся ученым в области геологии. К.И.Сатпаев внес громадный вклад в развитие геологической теории, его исследования привели к открытию богатейших природных ресурсов Казахстана. Особую известность Сатпаев приобрел  доказав, что  недра Жезказгана  хранят несметные богатства.

          Академик Сатпаев является родоначальником металлогенического направления в геологии Казахстана, создав металлогеническую прогнозную карту, он заслуженно получил мировое призвание.    Имя первого  президента  Академии  наук  Казахстана тесно связано  не только с  развитием науки, но и   промышленности республики.

           По инициативе и под руководством К.И. Сатпаева, совместно с Министерством цветной металлургии СССР, в 1947 году  была проведена вторая сессия Академии наук Казахской  ССР в г. Усть-Каменогорске, посвященная проблемам изучения и освоения производительных сил Большого  Алтая. 

          Люди подобные К.И. Сатпаеву,  надолго остаются в памяти потомков, служат нравственным ориентиром. Высокий профессионализм и жизненная мудрость, основанная на глубокой общечеловеческой культуре, направлялись К.И. Сатпаевым на благо страны, общества и народа.
