Қазақстан Республикасының жаңа астанасы ретінде Астана қаласының халықаралық тұсаукесері 1998 жылы 10 маусымда өтті. Одан кейін 10 жыл бойы қала күні жергілікті халық арасында 10 маусымда аталып келді.
